Five questions to ponder over the holiday break
2020 was a challenge for almost everyone across our personal, family, and business lives. I’m sure we’ll all be glad to see it in our rear-view mirrors.
That said, 2020 also presented an opportunity for reflection and renewal. While COVID kept us apart from each other, in some respects it brought us together. For example, my children are much closer with each other. I’ve also been having virtual “quarantinis” with my sisters and brother which is something we wouldn’t have done otherwise.
As we head into the holiday season, there is a ray of hope. We will see vaccines distributed over the course of the next several months with a promise of a more normal way of life on the horizon.
So, in the spirit of the season, here are a few “What if” questions to ponder over the holidays:
1. What if we re-think the way we work together to strengthen relationships and culture in a hybrid virtual / physical environment?
2. What if we embrace challenge as an opportunity for innovation?
3. What if we view collaboration as a means of creation?
4. What if we make our 2021 aspirations about others instead of ourselves?
5. What if we thought less about what we want to do and more about who we want to be?
I suspect life will be different going forward, but different can be better. As an optimist, that’s the mindset I’m adopting for 2021.
As always, I would love to hear your thoughts.
